First Minister to be questioned

Scotland’s First Minister Henry McLeish is being taken up on his promise to listen to everyone in the country – by the campaigning Aberdeen Evening Express.

The newspaper is encouraging readers to call and leave a message for the First Minister about the issues they feel matter.

The Express then plans to present Henry McLeish with the views and questions of their readers during his next visit to north-east Scotland.

The straight-talking paper told its readers: “As Aberdeen’s Champion, we think its is time Henry McLeish heard straight from the people of the North-east exactly what needs to be done to improve our forgotten part of the nation.”

Suggested issues include the roads and transport networks, the state of the health service or crime, drugs and poverty.

Readers will be able to call the Hotline to Henry as part of the Aberdeen’s Champion campaign being run by the newspaper.
