'First' for publisher as business website goes live

The Liverpool Daily Post has launched a dedicated business website for its influential business readership.

www.TheBusinessweek.co.uk will be updated with breaking stories, daily podcasts, and live updates on the FTSE 100 index, as well as including content from its weekly in-paper supplement of the same name.

Trinity Mirror says the website is believed to be the first of its kind produced by a UK regional newspaper.

It is also one of the first developments to take advantage of Trinity Mirror North West and North Wales’s £1.5m Transformation Project, which enables traditional newsrooms to create media-neutral content that is as suitable for digital platforms, such as websites, as it is for print.

Liverpool Daily Post editor Jane Wolstenholme said: “Businessweek, our weekly in-paper supplement, is already firmly established as an indispensable read for the region’s business community. Offering it to them in this format – with so many extra features – is something we believe there is a huge appetite for.”

TheBusinessweek.co.uk is free-to-access and will also include a video debate on the issues affecting local companies and a business-to-business directory.
