A schoolgirl is set for an emotional reunion with the dad she hasn’t seen since she was four years old, thanks to the Paisley Daily Express.

Eleven-year-old Kirsty McDonald was desperate to find her dad, Joseph Graham, and plans are now under way for the pair to meet after an appeal was published in the Express.

Kirsty and her mum, Elizabeth, moved from Paisley to Manchester seven years ago, losing touch with Kirsty’s father, Joseph.

Elizabeth had tried to contact Joseph over the years, but with no luck, so she contacted the paper to ask for its help.

Just hours after the story was published, Kirsty’s delighted father contacted the paper’s offices, and revealed that he had been trying to track down his daughter.

He said: “It must be nearly eight years since I’ve seen Kirsty, but I’ve been thinking about her.

“I’m really keen to see Kirsty again and the rest of my family would like to see her as well.”
