Dogs' tale a happy one

A huge response from readers resulted in more than 60 calls to the Dundee Evening Telegraph after an appeal to find new homes for a litter of puppies.

The eight collie-cross pups were abandoned outside some kennels and left lying in a pair of straw-lined plastic barrels.

The power of the press was unleashed when the paper highlighted their plight and asked for prospective owners to come forward.

The sheer number of calls received meant there would be no problem finding enough suitable owners.
