The South Wales Evening Post is celebrating 10 years of success with its annual Youth Proms.

This year 16 schools from south west Wales took to the stage of Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall to provide a feast of musical entertainment.

They had been chosen to take part after performing at the Evening Post’s Youth Festival of Music in March – another popular date in the calendar of schools and colleges throughout the area.

The grand finale of Youth Proms 2000 was conducted by Brian Weir, of the Welsh College of Music and Drama, and included World In Union and the Welsh and English national anthems.

The Post marked the Youth Proms with a four-page full-colour supplement featuring 18 photographs of the youngsters taking part.
