Commitment gets results

Staff at the Somerset County Gazette are celebrating an increase in sales.

Latest figures issued by the Audit Bureau of Circulation show the paper sold an average 30,524 copies per week in the period of January to June – an increase of 53 copies per week over the same six-month period last year – and sales are continuing to climb.

Deputy Regional Newspaper Sales Manager Nick Mathias said: “This increase is testimony to the hard work and dedication of all the staff involved in bringing out the paper every Friday.”

Editor-in-Chief Ken Bird said the recent fuel crisis had driven home the commitment of the County Gazette team.

“While other papers have been forced to reduce pagination and leave out important material, we have managed to provide the normal service to our thousands of readers and advertisers it’s been business as usual despite the problems.”
