Chronicle celebrations

Staff at the Essex Chronicle are celebrating after the Audit Bureau of Circulation figures, for the first six months of this year, showed they are the UK’s biggest-selling regional weekly paper.

It is the third time that the Chronicle has topped the sales table.

The latest figures show the Chronicle sold an average of 50,135 copies a week.

With the paper also boasting a readership of 122,000, editor Stuart Rawlins said: “Readers know that the Chronicle gives excellent value and quality across a comprehensive range of news and services for businesses.

“Independent research has shown that the Chronicle is a powerful and dominant medium for readers and advertisers. That is why sales continue to grow. Its value and quality are elements we intend to develop further to ensure that the Chronicle remains at the top.”
