Chance for public to find out how press deals with complaints

Birmingham Mail editor Steve Dyson will be among industry experts involved in a question-and-answer session at a Press Complaints Commission open day in Birmingham tomorrow.

The public will be able to meet commission members and staff to discuss its work.

A surgery session is designed for people who want to have a private, informal chat with senior staff about the print media or about making a complaint to a newspaper.

Then, later in the day, members of the public are invited to grill a panel of experts who have experience of the PCC about any aspect of the press or the system of self-regulation.

The members of the panel will be:

  • PCC chairman Sir Christopher Meyer,
  • Commission member Vivien Hepworth, public member of the Commission,
  • PCC director Tim Toulmin,
  • Birmingham Mail editor Steve Dyson.

The open day will be held at The Studio, Cannon Street, Birmingham.
