Worksop bone scanner appeal

The Worksop Guardian’s charity for the year has been boosted after local golfers donated £9,000 to the fund.

The newspaper has been supporting the DEXA Bone Scanner Appeal – which aims to buy Bassetlaw Hospital a new bone scanner.

A charity golf day held at Worksop Golf Club raised £7,600 and a further £2,000 was donated by Lee Westwood on behalf of the Cannon European Masters Charity Challenge.

Appeal co-ordinator Janet Petts said: “With a bit of luck and more hard work, we should reach our target by the end of the year.”

The charity received another donation from Angelo Greco, an IT consultant, who raised £600 by climbing Mont Blanc in a recent sponsored event.

The Worksop Guardian has promised to support and promote any fundraising activities that are held for the charity.
