A newspaper’s scheme to crack down on crime has received the personal support of the Prime Minister.
Since the Evening News launched its fight in May, the number of break-ins in and around Norwich has dropped significantly.
The paper teamed up with the police and a local DIY store to offer simple and effective security advice in a three-pronged attack to Beat the Burglars.
Tony Blair told readers: “I wish to send my full support to the Evening News anti-burglary campaign.
“Crime reduction campaigns like this can be very successful when the police and community work together, sharing advice and sending a joint message of determination to cut crime.”
Norfolk police have welcomed the top-level support and the paper will continue its campaign during the summer months.
