Time to be proud

The Essex Chronicle has launched a new campaign to highlight the very best the town has to offer.

Pride in Chelmsford comes on the rebound from the town’s unsuccessful bid for city status and wants to set aside the disappointment and look to the future.

The paper wants to harness the spirit that grew during the city status bid.

Editor Stuart Rawlins said: “Chelmsford has much to be proud of and this campaign aims to put back the pride in the borough and to highlight its many achievements.

“This newspaper has been recording those achievements since 1764.

“We may not have gained the title of city, and that is a disappointment, but let us all benefit from the progress that has been made and build on it to ensure that every individual and organization in the community is inspired to be proud of what has been and what can be achieved.”

The campaign is being backed by civic and business leaders and the Chronicle wants to hear about the achievements of individuals, organizations, businesses and community groups.
