Skegness team sets the 'Standard'

A team of staff from a Lincolnshire weekly launched a charity putting tournament to help with the paper’s St Barnabas Hospice at Home Appeal.

The Skegness Standard has teamed up with the Vine Hotel to hold the charity event as part of the ongoing appeal which aims to raise £25,000 to create a new comforting service for patients and their families in the area.

£19,250 has already been raised for the appeal through various fundraising and sponsored activities.

Now the Standard is inviting readers to ‘putt’ their money where their mouth is and have a go at the challenge, with all proceeds going towards the appeal.

Editor John Cowpe led the team of eight staff from the paper, including chief reporter Becki Gunn, reporters William Ramsey and Robert Owen, receptionist Pamela Taylor, sales rep Joanne Beach, ad manager Sadie Jubb and telesales rep Jenni Karley.
