An appeal by the Norwich Evening News to Save Our Saturdays is being backed on a national level by the Football Supporters Association.

The campaign is to preserve traditional Saturday afternoon football. The match timings are being compromised by demands from TV companies and Football Authorities.

The operation has also been giving full backing from Norwich City Independent Supporters Association.

Committee member and spokesman for the association Keith Roads said: “We are 100 per cent behind the campaign. Fans love the traditional Saturday football matches but the demands of the TV companies have changed the face of football.”

Since the beginning of the season 13 changes have been made to Norwich City’s fixture list. Ten of these have been due to TV coverage of the games.
