Oxford Mail readers are being urged to hand in their old mobile phones to help children in hospital.

The phones can be sold for up to £30 and the proceeds could raise up to £20,000 to equip a new accident and emergency unit for children.

Editor Jim McClure and publishing manager Tom Mitchell joined hospital staff to launch the appeal.

Phone recycling points are being set up across Oxfordshire.
