Life-saver courses to be run by the Echo

Readers are being asked to step forward to learn how to save a life.

The Lincolnshire Echo is to give everyone in the county the chance to learn first aid skills – if they are willing to spend two hours of their time learning resuscitation techniques.

The Echo is running the campaign as part of British Heart Week, which starts on Saturday.

The Foundation’s awareness drive wants to increase the number of people able to carry out emergency life support to help heart attack victims.

The Echo has pledged to organise training sessions if enough people come forward.

Lincolnshire Ambulance staff officer Mike Gillon said: “The sooner someone steps in and does the right thing in an emergency the better, so we would encourage every member of the public to take up the Echo’s offer and learn those vital life-saving techniques.”
