A campaign in the Somerset County Gazette has resulted in generous donations for the victim of a brutal assault three years ago.

The Fund for Lisa was set up after Lisa Taylor was left brain damaged following a physical attack by a man she knew.

Since then, she has been cared for at the Manor Nursing Home in Bishop’s Hull, where she has started to recover.

Now that Lisa is able to come home, her family plan to build a purpose-built extension to their home.

Gazette editor-in-chief Ken Bird said: “We’d like to thank everyone who so generously came forward to back the appeal and help Lisa. The response has been tremendous.”
