Homecoming 'queen' Kerry returns from jungle

The Warrington Guardian has scored its second campaign success in as many weeks after Queen of the Jungle Kerry McFadden was welcomed home with a civic reception at the weekend.

While in the jungle, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here winner Kerry was backed by the Guardian – her home town newspaper – with a Vote Kerry campaign.

And after her triumphant win the Guardian appealed to council bosses to welcome the new queen home in style – which they duly did.

After winging her way back from the outback, Kerry joined family and friends at Warrington Town Hall to celebrate in the town from which she hails and where her mum, Sue, still lives, before returning to Ireland where she now lives with husband Bryan McFadden.

During her whistle-stop visit Kerry took time out of her hectic schedule to say a few words of thanks to the people of Warrington who supported her throughout the show, many of which had gathered at the town hall to catch a glimpse of Kerry.

She also met the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Pauline Nelson, who gave a ‘welcome home’ speech.
