Crime crackdown gets a boost

The Aberdeen Evening Express has produced posters to publicise Operation Sentinel, a six-month crime crackdown by Grampian Police.

Officers will specifically target drug dealers and house breakers who are causing misery for residents in the communities of Seaton and Old Aberdeen.

During this first week of the campaign, thousands of householders will be leafleted on how they can avoid falling victim to crime.

A team of bobbies will also patrol streets trying to pinpoint vulnerable properties. They will note houses with windows left open and cars with valuables on display and alert the owners.

The two communities which are the focus of Operation Sentinel have high numbers of old people and students – two of the groups considered to be most vulnerable to crime.
