A Halifax hospital is moving closer to equipping its new cancer unit – thanks to an Evening Courier appeal.
The Macmillan cancer unit appeal is now only £75,000 short of its £800,000 target, which will enable the newly-opened Calderdale Royal Hospital to pay for all the equipment needed.
Readers of the Halifax Courier have taken part in all sorts of fund-raising projects, the latest being fun days at the Fountain Head Inn in Pellon and at the Town Hall Hotel in Elland.
At The Fountain Head, face painting and head-shaving took place, while at the Town Hall Hotel, money was raised from a car boot sale and a raffle.
The Moorlands Inn in Ogden also joined in with the money raising effort, putting on a cabaret evening with a singer.
