Calls flood in over drugs plea

Readers of a North Wales newspaper have come forward to name the drug pushers in their community.

They spoke out after a plea in the Flintshire Leader when the Shop-a-Dealer hotline was set up.

The paper says its readers have come up with names, addresses, car registration numbers and other details on people they say are dealing on their doorsteps.

Staff there have passed the information on to police, who themselves have been getting calls on the back of the campaign.

The Leader has promised not to give details of the suspects, in a bid to give the police time to act.

Drugs information officer Mel Roberts said: “It is very pleasing to receive so many calls at the start of this campaign, and we ask the public to contact us with any information about dealers.”
