Bath is beautiful

Bath is beautiful – that’s the message that the Bath Chronicle is backing in a new campaign for the city.

It has launched a campaign to keep the city streets litter-free.

Keep It Clean will also aim to clear the rubbish from areas surrounding the city in an initiative backed by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The rubbish-busting message will be targeted at schools, businesses and the general public and aims to make them think twice about dropping litter in one of the country’s most beautiful areas.

The Westcountry tourist trap is famous for unique architecture on its stonebuilt landmarks, set in green rolling countryside.

Chronicle editor David Gledhill said: “If we take a greater pride in the areas of Bath and North East Somerset that we live in, then people will be less inclined to throw rubbish around.”

The campaign was launched at the top class Royal Crescent Hotel by council chairman Coun Bryan Organ.
