Appeal pays for hospice worker

An outreach worker paid for by a charity appeal run by the Cambridge Evening News has transformed the lives of the families of terminally ill children.

Angie May now gives 14 local families a break from the demanding job of caring for their children.

And the £25,000 raised by the News’ Quidenham appeal has helped fund her post.

She is based at a hospice and offers specialist care for families that need such support.

The paper is hoping to raise another £25,000 to fund a second post to carry out more of the valuable work.
