Appeal for toddler almost at target

One of the biggest cash appeals launched by the Wiltshire Times has almost reached its target.

The Zara Fox Appeal, to raise money for a toddler with a rare condition, is just £1,000 short of its £6,000 target, which would pay for Zara to travel to America for treatment.

The little girl suffers from a rare condition known as coffin siris syndrome that affects her speech, feeding and limbs.

The campaign has been running only five weeks but has received big donations from organisations including the Warminster Lions, which donated £1,000.

A spokesman for the group said: “The Wiltshire Times has been very supportive to Zara, which has been really encouraging. We’ve been following the progress of the campaign every week.”

A cheque was presented to the child’s parents and Zara’s mum Mrs Fox said: “It’s really brilliant. People have been so kind.”
