100 Appeal from Guardian

The Cornish Guardian has launched a Centenary Appeal to help sick children.

The newspaper celebrated its 100th birthday with news that it would raise cash to help youngsters with sleeping disorders.

The local hospital’s existing monitoring equipment is out-of-date and breaks down so it is important to get a new one.

The paper is asking all readers to contribute at least £1 – which represents a penny for each year the Cornish Guardian has been published. Readers can hand in donations at its offices in Bodmin, St Austell or Newquay.

The appeal was launched by the Mayor of Bodmin at a ceremony at the Bodmin head office. He cut a specially-baked birthday cake for the launch.
