Bygones clue leads to brothers meeting

Two brothers have been reunited after 40 years apart – thanks to the Gloucester Citizen.

Warren and Michael Barett were the toast of their school in the 1950s after excelling at cricket and playing a major part in the school orchestra.

However, national service and their subsequent careers meant that they lost touch with each other in the years that followed.

But following a piece in the Citizen’s Bygone section about their old school, the pair were able to trace each other by contacting a club for former pupils of the school.

The brothers, who are now in their 60s, hope to use the Bygones section to trace other friends from their younger days.
