Burton Mail acquires new title

The Burton Daily Mail Ltd has acquired the Black Country Bugle from Scottish Radio Holdings.

Founded in 1972, with a circulation of more than 17,000 per issue, the Bugle is the only paid-for weekly newspaper circulating in the West Midlands area known as the Black Country.

The newspaper will now be printed at the Burton Mail presses at Wetmore Road, Burton.

Jim Black, managing director of the Burton Daily Mail Ltd, said: “As the newspaper industry continues to consolidate it is important we take any opportunity to broaden the base of this company and strengthen its publishing portfolio.

“I am delighted we have been able to acquire this title to add to our publishing interests.”
