Edwin Boorman has stepped down from his role as chairman of the Kent Messenger Group, making way for his daughter Geraldine Allinson.
Seventy-year-old Edwin has retired after more than 40 years in charge of the independent family-owned newspaper group, where he had been chairman since 1986.
He will now become the group’s second president, succeeding his late father who was the first, and will act as a link between the board and the shareholders.
