Ambulance tales prove a hit

Tenacious reporters in the local press often have a good eye for a story – even if it’s not an obvious winner.

Former ambulanceman Alan Crosskill was interviewed by the Lincolnshire Echo about his book Call an Ambulance, based on humourous episodes during his 35-year career.

And after the feature hit the streets of Lincolnshire and extracts from the book were printed in the Echo, Mr Crosskill was interviewed on two radio stations and a host of other local and national newspapers and magazines.

He has also been booked to appear at more than a dozen events in the next few months.

And it was all after he found fame in the Lincolnshire Echo.

Alan, who now lives in Cleveland, told readers: “I must confess to be thoroughly enjoying myself.”

He’s enjoying himself so much that he has now completed more than 30,000 words to his next book, Son of Call an Ambulance.
