All change in Slough

It’s all change at the Slough Observer as the paper welcomes a new editor along with several other new appointments.

At the age of 30, Martin Biddle has become the youngest editor in the Observer’s parent group, Clyde and Forth Press.

He takes over from Janice Raycroft who has left the paper after 21 years in charge.

Martin’s rise to the top has been swift and impressive. He joined the paper as a trainee reporter in 1996 and became deputy editor in January 2000.

He exlained: “This is a dream job for me and a challenge I am determined to live up to.”

Doug Marshall has been promoted to news editor and Bryce Martin has returned to the Observer as sports editor.

Martin said: “Bryce and Doug are first class journalists and key members of the Observer team. They will play major parts in the continuing redevelopment of the paper.”

Meanwhile, Dunfermline Press, stablemate of Clyde and Forth Press has a new managing director in Leon Vyrva.

Mr Vyrva joins the company following his departure from the Johnston Press-owned Fife Free Press group, where he spent 20 years.
