The South Wales Evening Post is to spend £1.2m redeveloping its head office in Swansea.
Work is scheduled to begin in September, with completion in early 2008.
The Adelaide Street building will be transformed to create a new look for what is one of the main gateways into the city.
Swansea Council had already approved plans to clad the 1960s building in a new facade of glass, steel and terracotta tiles.
Post editor Spencer Feeney welcomed the news that the scheme was going ahead.
He said: “These are exciting times for the city, and our investment in our building will send out a strong message about our continuing commitment to Swansea.
“As Wales’s largest selling newspaper, we understand the importance of being at the heart of our local community.”
