    This regional evening paper couldn’t find its crossword for the day, so printed a six inch square photo of the puzzle’s compiler, Geoffrey Hammerton.

    The caption (which explains all) reads: “We apologise for the absence of the crossword today. This is due to a computer fault. We hope to bring it to you tomorrow. Pictured is crossword complier Geoffrey Hammerton who created a special edition crossword marking the wedding of his daughter Sophie Hammerton and her fiance Martin Goodson.”
