The cream of the broadcasting world will be pitted against the very best of the print press in the Wales heat of the 2001 BT Media Awards, the nominations showed today.

Among the nominees are staff from the South Wales Argus, Daily Post, Western Mail and South Wales Evening Post.

A host of other daily and weekly papers will also be competing for the top prizes, together with TV and radio stations.

The winners of each of the 14 categories will be announced on Tuesday, April 16, at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel.
