Newsnight presenter Jeremy Vine will be guest speaker at this year’s North East Press Awards.
The event will be held at Newcastle Civic Centre on May 13.
A record number of entries was received this year from journalists across the region – stretching from Hexham and Alnwick in the north to Middlesbrough in the south.
There are 29 categories in the awards – sponsored this year by Transco.
