Post scoops award for third year in a row

The Yorkshire Post has scooped the BT Northern Daily Newspaper of the Year title for the third successive year.

The award was one of 13 handed out to the best of the media in the North of England during a ceremony at York Racecourse.

The Post’s religious affairs correspondent Michael Brown also scooped an award, being named BT Northern Feature Writer of the Year.

The Northern Weekly Newspaper of the Year title went to the Stockport Express.

There were also awards for the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo, Bradford Telegraph & Argus and Barnsley Chronicle.

Each individual winner received a cheque for £250, a trophy and certificate. Winners of the four group categories were presented with a trophy, certificate and £500 to donate to the registered charity of their choice.
