Honoured by borough

A reporter on a London weekly is being honoured with an award from her local authority.

Pat Greenwood, who has been a journalist at the South East London Mercury for more than 25 years, is being rewarded for her contribution to her borough.

She was presented with her award along with four other recipients, who have all championed women’s causes and “worked to promote a fairer, just and equal society” for women in Lewisham.

Mayor of Lewisham, Coun Dave Sullivan, said: “These women have made great contributions to women’s issues and the borough.

“They have all attained a prominent position within their organisation and achieved a high level of success and influence and have become role models for women across the borough.”
