A former deputy newspaper editor turned author is on the verge of winning further international acclaim.

Crime writer Stephen Booth, who worked at the Worksop Guardian for 15 years, has enjoyed enormous success on both sides of the Atlantic with his first two novels, Black Dog and Dancing with the Virgins.

Television and film rights have been sold, together with translation rights in seven languages.

Now Stephen’s work has been recognised in America, and Black Dog is in the running for two literary prizes.

The novel has been shortlisted for the Anthony Award for Best Mystery Novel and the Barry Award for Best British Crime Novel.

Stephen will fly to Wahington DC in November to attend Boucheron – the World Mystery Convention – to see if the book has been successful.
