The competition is split into 21 categories, including best news story, best innovation in online journalism, best use of multimedia and Internet journalist of the year, and a special honour award will also be handed out to an indivdual who has made an outstanding contribution to online journalism in Europe.

All entries must have been published during the period June 1, 2002 to May 31, 2003, and be submitted by an online entry form.
