Deadline approaches for EDF Energy Media Awards

Entries are now arriving daily for the EDF Energy East of England Media Awards, run in association with holdthefrontpage.co.uk.

The deadline for sending work to us is Friday December 1, so make sure you get your entries verified by a senior member of editorial staff on time.

Newspapers, radio and television stations around the East of England have been invited to enter 19 categories.

The awards take in newspapers and broadcasters in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and parts of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

Every entry must be accompanied by a separate entry form, copies of which can be downloaded and printed out from here.

The judges have been briefed to expect a long day at the office, as almost 200 entries were submitted for the same event last year, which saw the Norwich Evening News named Daily Newspaper of the Year, and the Hoddesdon and Cheshunt Mercury Series named Best Weekly.

The contest is free to enter, and lunch will be provided courtesy of the sponsors at the presentation event in January at the Suffolk Showground, in Ipswich.

The categories up for grabs are listed below. Winners of individual categories will take home a cheque for £100, together with a certificate and trophy. Winners of the group awards, such as newspaper of the year and campaign of the year, will receive a trophy and certificate and the right to use EDF Energy’s branded winner strip for a year.
