Welcome to Journalism & PR at the University of Sunderland.

From the basics of interview technique, news style, features, sports and magazine writing, through to the fundamentals of media law, press conferences and media calls, the journalism and PR degrees at Sunderland will provide you with the skills to get that coveted graduate role.

You will be taught by academics and professional journalists with regional, national and international experience across print and digital media.

Your lecturers will work with you to master the latest tools and journalism techniques while providing you with the critical skills to analyse media and popular culture.

We have a strong research profile, close links with industry and a reputation for producing highly employable graduates.

We offer six undergraduate and two postgraduate degrees across journalism and public relations:

The Journalism and PR degrees are situated in the Media Centre at St Peter's on the banks of the River Wear, home to one of the most vibrant and well-equipped areas in the University.

The £9.6m state of the art facilities - among the best in Britain - include two TV studios, four digital radio studios, a 200-seat cinema and editing suites and journalism/PR newsrooms equipped with the latest computers and industry-standard design software.
