Training body welcomes new board director

The director of finance at the Newspaper Licensing Agency has joined the National Council for the Training of Journalists.

Alison Moore, right, is also company secretary at the NLA which is owned by the UK newspaper groups and is responsible for licensing the reproduction of newspaper content.

She said: "I am pleased to be joining the board of the NCTJ and I look forward to working with the team on the development of financial strategies and management reporting."

Before joining the NLA, Alison spent 15 years in accountancy practice – latterly with the top ten firm Baker Tilly, where she worked in corporate finance, corporate compliance and practice management.

NCTJ chairman Kim Fletcher said: "Alison's extensive skills will be an asset to the NCTJ board of directors.

"Only with financial stability can we continue to develop the gold standard of journalism education and Alison's contribution will ensure continuing value for money for all those who invest in the NCTJ."
