The first graduates from University College Falmouth’s ground-breaking MA in International Journalism have already won jobs in global news organisations.
Mike Sunderland, said his work as a producer with Sky News was a direct result of what he learned on the course.
He said: "At the end of the day, being successful in news is down to the individual and how hard they're willing to work. What the course at Falmouth does is put you in a position to realise your own potential and give you a real shot at achieving it.
"Thanks to the practical focus of my MA, I was able to make myself more useful than most Sky trainees."
Edgar Morse, a freelance news producer said: "The course gave me a real insight into the world of media and a foot in the door for starting my career. If it wasn't for the course I would never have had my time at The Daily Telegraph and the Associated Press, and been able to sell parts of my documentary to Reuters."
The course which gives students a grounding in TV, print, radio and online journalism, is recognised by the industry's main accreditation body, the Broadcast Journalism Training Council.
