Inverness Courier reporter Helen Paterson has won this year's TSMurray Award, for the best performance in the National Certificate Examination by a candidate from a Scottish newspaper.
Helen, who until recently worked for the Midlothian Advertiser in Dalkeith, near Edinburgh, received the award from the Society of Editors (Scotland).
She also collected £250.
The award is presented annually, in memory of a distinguished editor from Fife, for the best performance by a candidate in Scotland in either of the NCTJ's National Certificate Examinations.
Helen, (pictured), was presented with a certificate at the Midlothian Advertiser office from Roy Scott, Johnston Lothian editor-in-chief and vice-chairman of the Society of Editors (Scotland).
She gained the NCE last spring.
