A first-year journalism student from the University of Central Lancashire is already enjoying her first editorship - after launching her own magazine.
Razina Bargit set up a community magazine for her local mosque in Bolton, becoming researcher, writer and editor, and 1,000 copies a month are now being printed.
Razina initially had the idea of producing the magazine for children who attend the mosque during her year out, and nine issues have so far been published and funded through local sponsors.
She said: "I wanted to bridge the gap between the children and the leaders at my mosque and thought a magazine would be a good way of doing this. It's been a great communication tool and ice breaker."
ZM Monthly has stories on a religious theme and also includes contributions from children at the mosque.
Adults from the mosque have asked for content targeting an older audience to be included too, and visitors from Canada were so impressed with it that they took a copy back with them to show people at home.
Razina said: "The children passed it onto their families and suddenly they wanted more involvement. It's hard trying to write for such a wide age range but also a good challenge."
Now she has begun her degree course she has decided to pass on her editing responsibilities so that she can concentrate on her studies.
Razina said: "I was quite upset writing my final editorial letter but I know I have to let it go. It's had a massive effect on me and I hope many other people too."
