Eight photographers get their 'prof test'

Eight press photographers and photojournalists have been successful in the November 2004 National Certificate Examination.

The successful press photographers were:

Claire Tregaskis,
Western Morning News

Katy Beswetherick,
Lancashire Evening Telegraph

Anthony Channer,
Essex Chronicle

Anthony Chappel-Ross,
Harrogate Advertiser

Sarah Hickey,
Freelance

Nicholas Obank,
Colchester Evening Gazette

Louise Porter,
Cumbrian Newspapers

Claire Tregaskis was awarded a distinction for achieving a pass of more than 75 per cent.

The successful photojournalist was Elizabeth Robinson, Doncaster Free Press.

The photographers sitting the NCE had to submit a portfolio of ten pictures and a picture spread as well as a logbook of their training period.

The practical exam included an action shot and caption, and a front page and inside pictures for a supplement, all produced to a written brief.
