Five photographers get their 'prof test'

Five press photographers and photo journalists have been successful in the May 2004 National Certificate Examination.

The successful candidates were:

Marie Caley,
Doncaster Free Press;

Francis Leader,
Telegraph and Argus;

Jasdeep Lehal,
Enfield Gazette and Advertiser;

David Parry,
Freelance;

Lucy Ray,
Matlock Mercury/Derbyshire Times.

Francis Leader and Lucy Rae were both awarded distinctions for achieving passes of more than 75 per cent.

    • The nine photographers sitting the NCE had to submit a portfolio of ten pictures and a picture spread as well as a logbook of their training period.

    The practical exam included an action shot and caption, and a front page and inside pictures for a supplement, all produced to a written brief.
