New dean for media school

Nigel Dacre, the former editor of ITV News, has been appointed as the new Dean of the School of Media at the London College of Printing.

He will take up his new post in February, replacing Sally Feldman who is now Dean of Media at the University of Westminster.

In his new role, Nigel will be responsible for the academic management of the School of Media, which has 1,100 students and 45 staff.

He will also help to oversee the move of the school from its current premises at Back Hill in Clerkenwell to a new £28m campus facility in Elephant and Castle, which is due to open later this year.

Nigel said: "This is a fascinating new role.

"The London College of Printing has an excellent reputation throughout the media industry, and I'm looking forward to helping further develop the work and output of the Media School."
