A Scottish college will soon be teaching budding reporters the tricks of the trade.
An HNC/HND course in practical journalism is being launched by Aberdeen College's communications and media department next month.
It will run in addition to the communications studies course which allows students to choose journalism as one of their options.
The new course is the only one of its kind in north-east Scotland and includes a work-experience placement unit in year two.
Students will be able to go on and complete a BA (Hons) degree at Napier University in Edinburgh after graduating.
Aberdeen College sector manager Linda Trotter said: "We are delighted that demand has been such that we are able to offer the course once again.
"The course is ideal for students with a lively interest in current affairs, an inquisitive nature and a nose for a good story."
