Training places are up for grabs on an award-winning television course where students can take part in a cable news service spearheaded by the Grimsby Telegraph.
The Grimsby College course pitches candidates into the real world of television with the bulk of the course dedicated to programme-making for the cable news service GTV.
The service, a joint venture between the Telegraph, Grimsby College's East Coast Media and Immage Studios, went on the air in January as part of NTL's Channel Seven output.
It offers students the only guaranteed outlet to broadcast their work in the UK.
GTV has three vehicles, each equipped with two editing stations and two cameras, enabling the news crews to travel all over the area gathering news and following up stories which have appeared in the Grimsby Telegraph.
The current 40-week course will finish in June, and East Coast Media is now planning its next recruitment drive which will take place in two waves with start dates May and September.
Places are available for three training programmes - NVQ4 Broadcast Journalism, NVQ3 Camera Operations and NVQ3 Editing.
The level four award, aimed at graduates, gives a broad-based training package, which includes presenting, camera operating and editing.
It also includes academic units in media law, public administration and news writing.
The level three programmes concentrate on the practical skills of camera operations and editing.
East Coast Media will be holding an open day at its Grimsby College studios on Friday, April 12 at which interviews for the May intake will be held.
Application forms are available from East Coast Media, Grimsby College, Nuns Corner, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire.
