ITN's Mark Austin was returning to his former college today to launch the largest part of its £8m redevelopment - The Tower.
The Tower, Highbury's largest building, is also the largest development project to date at the Portsmouth college.
It now houses five floors of student accommodation, a state-of-the-art digital media suite, a first-class computer suite and modern teaching accommodation.
Mark Austin, who has worked for regional newspapers, the BBC and ITN, is returning to Highbury, where he completed his journalism training, to launch The Tower.
Mark currently specialises in covering foreign events for ITN News and presented last year's series of the reality game show Survivor.
Guests will view the new facilities, including a state-of-the-art media suite. This includes a floor of apple macs and a floor of the latest digital broadcasting equipment in television and radio.
Principal Stella Mbubaegbu said: "The College's vision is to create a dynamic, innovative and high performing college which delivers world class education and training to meet the emerging needs of individuals, organisations and the local communities of Portsmouth and beyond.
"We believe that the redevelopment of Highbury will support this vision, by offering the very best in facilities and teaching accommodation."
