Johnston Press is one of the biggest publishers in the UK regional press with 300 weekly newspapers and 18 daily titles.
Growing from a small base in Scotland it expanded rapidly during the 1990s and its local markets now extend from Peterhead in Scotland to Portsmouth in Hampshire.
It also operates 323 local websites which reach an estimated monthly audience of around 8.2m.
